Tourist Places in Tawang

Sela Pass:

Madhuri Lake:

Originally known as Shonga-tser Lake, Madhuri Lake was renamed after a Bollywood actress, Madhuri Dixit, who shot a song sequence for a movie here. Located at a distance of about 42 kilometers from Tawang, Shonga-Tser Lake is a natural lake known for its scenic beauty. Jaswant Garh:

Jaswant Garh is a war memorial dedicated to Indian Army soldier Jaswant Singh Rawat, who fought bravely during the 1962 Indo-China War. The memorial is located on the way to Tawang and showcases his valor and sacrifice.

Nuranang Waterfalls:

Also known as Jang Falls, Nuranang Waterfalls is a picturesque waterfall located near Jang village, around 40 kilometers from Tawang. The waterfall cascades down from a height of about 100 meters and is surrounded by lush greenery.

Gorsam Chorten:

Gorsam Chorten is a stupa located near Zemithang in Tawang. It is one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the region and holds religious significance for Buddhists.

Tawang War Memorial:

The Tawang War Memorial is a tribute to the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1962 Indo-China War. It houses a memorial hall, a museum, and a stupa, providing insights into the history of the war.

Zemithang:

Zemithang is a small village located in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is nestled in the eastern Himalayas and offers a tranquil and picturesque setting. While Zemithang is a relatively lesser-known tourist destination, it has its own unique attractions and activities.
