The ruins of Agnigarh, a fort associated with a popular legend from the Hindu epic Mahabharata, are found in Tezpur. Tezpur is known for its picturesque landscapes and natural beauty. The city is surrounded by lush green hills, tea gardens, and the mighty Brahmaputra River, which adds to its scenic charm. The nearby Nameri National Park and Kaziranga National Park are famous for their diverse wildlife, including the endangered Indian rhinoceros. Agnigarh

Agnigarh is a hillock located on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed to be the fortress where a princess named Usha was confined by her father. The hill provides a panoramic view of the entire city.  


Bamuni Hills

Bamuni Hills is known for its ancient ruins and archaeological sites. The hills are home to remnants of a 9th-century temple complex, including beautiful sculptures and carvings.  


Chitralekha Udyan (Cole Park)

Chitralekha Udyan is a well-maintained public park located near the banks of the Brahmaputra River. It is a popular spot for leisurely walks and picnics. The park also houses a collection of sculptures and a pond with boating facilities.  


Mahabhairab Temple

Located atop a hill, Mahabhairab Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple offers scenic views of Tezpur and the surrounding countryside. It is particularly famous for the Shivaratri festival celebrated here.  


Da Parbatia

Da Parbatia is an archaeological site famous for its ancient ruins of stone temples and sculptures. The most notable structure here is a beautifully carved doorframe that dates back to the 6th century. It showcases exquisite craftsmanship.  


Kalia Bhomora Setu

Kalia Bhomora Setu is a long bridge that spans across the Brahmaputra River, connecting Tezpur with Nagaon district. It is one of the longest bridges in Assam and offers breathtaking views of the river and its surroundings.  


Hazara Pukhuri

Hazara Pukhuri is a man-made pond located in the heart of Tezpur. It is believed to have been constructed by King Bhagadatta during the Mahabharata era. The pond is surrounded by lush greenery and serves as a popular spot for boating.  


Padum Pukhuri

Padum Pukhuri is a large pond. It is a popular spot for boating and relaxation. The pond is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a peaceful retreat
